More than 6,000 residents across the borough of Swindon now have access to superfast broadband, courtesy of Superfast Swindon.

The first part of the network is now live and available to residents and businesses in Highworth, Chiseldon, Central Swindon, Old Town, West Swindon and East Swindon.

The network will be extended to include Bishopstone in July.

Some residents and businesses will need to consider Planning Regulations when ordering the service and hosting an Outdoor Unit (ODU) on their property.

To assist them in understanding the Planning Regulations and any specific actions they may need to undertake Superfast Swindon has produced some guidance for residents.

Residents who live in Listed Buildings, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Conservation areas and flats are encouraged to read the guidance before making a decision to purchase the Superfast Swindon service. A copy of the leaflet is available at the Planning page.

Further advice is available for the Swindon Borough Council Planning Department or Superfast Swindon resellers. Full details of resellers are available at the How Can I Buy it page.

Residents will be able to meet resellers to discuss their specific needs at a series of engagement events throughout the Borough. Details can be found at the Community Engagement page.
